The Maitre d' is responsible for the overall management of the dining room to ensure excellent service for guest during their dining experience. Ensures customers are satisfied with dining experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Create an environment for guests designed to stimulate all senses through personal services, amenities and experiences.
  • Handle guest requests personally and/or refer as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the property’s guiding principles when providing service.
  • Create luxury for all the senses by greeting and seating guests.
  • Seat guests; provide them with menu and information about the restaurant.
  • Obtain beverages for guests if server is busy.
  • Monitor service load throughout restaurant and seat incoming parties accordingly.
  • Help servers provide service during busy times.
  • Follow up with guests throughout their meal to ensure they are receiving branded experience.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas
  • Ensure team members comply with health and food safety standards and regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service.
  • Ensure standards for team member performance and customer service are adhered to.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to speak and/or interact with guests.
  • Frequently standing; walking; using hands to handle or reach is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, to ensure business demands are met.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 year experience working within a 4 / 5* establishment as Maitre D’or 3 years as Lead Server or Server Captain.
  • A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink – wine and cocktail knowledge is essential
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills and ability to anticipate and respond to guests needs.
