Pool Cocktail Server/Bartender

Situated on the original site of City Hall, the hotel was modeled after a beaux arts German castle. The pool cocktail server and bartender position will be responsible for promptly welcoming guests, providing exceptional service and creating a memorable experience for the guests. This position is for those individuals interested in working in a team environment. All pool team members will be alternating between cocktail serving and bartending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Display good customer relation skills and takes initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.
  • Provide the highest quality guest interactions - be pleasant, friendly and polite to everyone.
  • Manage walk-up and seated guests appropriately.
  • Dispense alcoholic beverages and control service to ensure customers do not become intoxicated in accordance with liquor, hotel, and company policies and regulations.
  • Prepare drink orders per specified recipes and charge for such orders as they are prepared in the appropriate manner.
  • Comply with all liquor laws, health regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform side duties such as cleaning, garnish preparation, miscellaneous preparation, stocking, etc. Lift and carry heavy items, such as trays.
  • Multi-task several guests and duties at once, maintaining the highest levels of service.
  • Greet and take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Enter in orders to the computer ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain complete working knowledge of all menus including beverage and alcohol menus.
  • Proper setup and breakdown of area and service stations.
  • Keep working area neat and clean.
  • Follow service standards and best practices
  • Complete bar and pool set-up and breakdown side-work.
  • Morning, afternoon and evenings shifts are require based upon business demands.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • One year serving experience, and one year bartending experience preferred 
  • TABC and Food Handler certification required 
  • Clear, effective communication in written and verbal English is required. You must be able to accurately count cash and efficiently process transactions using company systems. 
  • This position requires continuous movement and the ability to lift and carry up to 36 pounds 
  • Will be working in an outside environment at the pool deck
